As Indians we take great pride in the inexhaustible richness and cultural variety of our country that dates back to over 5000 years of civilization. We owe our identity to this heritage. Even as the country, its people and culture continue to evolve, we must pay our respect to the traditional values that have brought us this far. As you may be aware, the rich Cultural Heritage of our country is fast diminishing and loosing its hold with the passing on of the baton to the younger generation. An entire Indian generation has been raised which is completely oblivious to the rich mosaic of the Indian Performing Arts including Classical Dance of India.
These art forms have to be preserved and propagated. It is precisely this belief that has inspired artists like me to probe into the country’s rich cultural repository to search for talents that can help promote and sustain interest in the classical traditions of the country for the present and future generations and for them to benefit from it. Continuing the series of “Unbound Beats of India”, this year too, Utsav organises a two-day festival of dance in April/May each year at India Habitat Centre.
Young, vibrant and committed artists of the country perform different Classical Dance forms in the event. To achieve our objectives your support and patronage is invaluable by way of Production Grant to help organize the festival. Looking forward to an encouraging response.
